The SHAQUDA atelier store offers workshops to “know, touch, experience, learn, and deeply understand” Kumano Fude cosmetic brushes. Visitors can experience the “tip-making process,” the key to making cosmetic brushes, through the hands-on instruction of brush artisans. Visitors will have a chance to meet the artisans to learn more about the behind-the-scenes of Kumano Fude brush culture over 180 years and experience the essence of brush making. In the shop zone, brush concierges will provide counseling services for brush selection. The brushes you experience making will be hand-crafted by our artisans, engraved with your name, and delivered to your home country.
WORKSHOP PROGRAM
0) Explanation of the historical background of the Kumano brush and the SHAQUDA brush brand.
1) Demonstration by a brush craftsman and experience of the 'tip-making process' with the craftsman.
2) Personalization and completion of the delivery address registration form.*
3) Q&A session among artisans and participants.
4) Brush concierge will answer all questions and demonstrate proper usage.
5) * Brushes that have been made can be delivered to your home (home country) after being checked by a brush craftsman.
In addition, we can introduce historical sites and sightseeing/ dining spots around Kumano town.
